THE LALIT HOTEL
Tooley St, London

An unusual project. The client sought to retain the traditional feel of this historic building by retaining the existing flooring, but first create a new low-tension sub-floor underneath.

To do so, we carefully removed the existing tiles, cleaned the sub-floor and created a barrier using Wakol PU280. A specialist decoupling fleece was then applied to create the low-tension sub floor. Finally, after utilising a leveling compound the machined parquet block was installed.

This is not atypical of a standard floor build up, but was a perfect replication of the original floor, both in prime condition and with the new system underneath.

Hamish was heavily involved throughout, utilising his experience and product knowledge, along with Lecol’s team, to perfectly achieve our client’s expectations.
